These four paintings are part of a group of eight small paintings made for an exhibition in January 2003 at Konstruktiv Tendens in Stockholm, Sweden. Working on a smaller scale gave me a great deal of freedom and a sense of play. Continuing with the themes of order and randomness, the rectangles in these paintings became more and more the language of dance and music. They simply skip and dance across the surfaces of these paintings, sometimes hugging the edges as they create colorful harmonies and rhythms. Linda Levit 2003 |
